Lucknow: Ayodhya District administration has banned entry of Ram Bhakts on Ram Navami, falling on April 21, without bringing negative Covid-19 report for offering prayers to Lord Ram Lala at the make-shift temple.
The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had held a virtual meeting with top seers of Ayodhya on Tuesday requesting them low-key celebrations in view of spurt in active cases during the second wave of coronavirus in Ayodhya.
The CM has appealed to devotees to celebrate Ram Navami at home instead of holding any congregation in Ayodhya or elsewhere.
The Ayodhya District Magistrate Anuj Kumar Jha said that the decision was taken in view of a spike in active cases in the temple town. âNo one will be allowed to enter Ayodhya on Ram Navami day without bringing a negative RT PCR report no older than 48 hours,â Jha said.
The temple will not stand on multiple pillars, but its base will be firmed up with 50 layers of cohesive material.
AYODHYA: The foundation work for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya began on Monday with the filling up of its foundation.
The 13,000sq ft of foundation will be filled with multiple layers of cohesive material which will raise the foundation to 25ft above the ground.
Before starting work on the temple’s foundation, a prayer was performed at Ram Janmabhoomi in the presence of Ram Mandir Trust secretary Champat Rai, trustee Dr Anil Mishra, Ayodhya DIG Deepak Kumar and district magistrate Anuj Kumar Jha.

The work to fill the foundation for construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya commenced with Vaidic Pujan at Shri Ram Janmbhoomi on Monday. According to details available, the 13,000 sq ft foundation will be filled with more than 50 layers of cohesive material to raise the foundation to 25 ft above the ground level.
A special pooja was organised here on Monday which was attended by Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra s secretary Champat Rai, trustee Anil Mishra, Ayodhya DIG Deepak Kumar and DM Anuj Kumar Jha.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday posted senior IAS officer Dipak Agarwal as the new divisional commissioner of Saharanpur which has witnessed repeated instances of caste clashes since May 5.
As many as 19 other IAS officers have also been transferred by the state government, an official spokesman said.
