The incident took place in Rajaji Tiger Reserve in Pauri Garhwal district. Dheer Singh, range officer Gauhri in Rajaji Tiger Reserve confirmed the incident. Singh said that the elephant charged towards the 55-year-old man and trampled him to death. He said that efforts are being made to identify the deceased. The body of the elderly man was sent for a post-mortem.
