A 72-year-old Munhall man was killed Thursday morning when he was hit by a vehicle in West Homestead, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office reported.
The victim, Anthony Donofrio, was hit at 10:35 a.m. in the 100 block of Seventh Avenue and West Street, the medical examiner’s office stated.
The Allegheny County Police homicide unit and collision reconstruction unit are investigating the fatal accident.
No information was available late Thursday night on the identity of the driver or the vehicle that hit Donofrio.

YOUNGSTOWN Eddie L. Crook Jr., 29, of Youngstown had been out of prison about eight months when he assaulted a supervisor at AstroShapes in Struthers last July, breaking her jaw in three places and cutting her face.

YOUNGSTOWN John A. Wardle, 32, of South Avenue, was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday for being the drunk driver who crashed a car at 2:15 a.m. July 8, 2019, on state Route 164 in Beaver Township that killed passenger Mohammad Musleh, 28.
Assistant Prosecutor Kevin Trapp told Judge Anthony Donofrio that Wardle’s blood alcohol level was .201 nearly three times the legal limit of .08, and he was driving 75 to 78 mph in a 45 mph zone when the crash took place. The road has only two lanes.
