Assaulting a police officer and being drunk and disorderly landed a Carlisle man before magistrates. Liam Anthony Horner, 28, of Finn Avenue, Carlisle, admitted being drunk and disorderly on Marks Avenue, in Carlisle on January 25. Carlisle’s Rickergate Magistrates’ Court also heard that he indicated a plea of guilty to assaulting a police officer by beating him on the same date. He was fined £120 for the assault and a further £40 for the drunk and disorderly charge. Horner must also pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £34 victim services surcharge.

Shane Anthony Horne appeared via video link from prison when he pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court to almost 50 charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fraud, enter premises to commit an indictable offence, stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and possessing dangerous drugs.

The 35-year-old, who was arrested following the break-in at the adult store, had been on a drug-affected 12-month rampage, NCA NewsWire reported.
