Some students at the University of the South Pacific have expressed their concern over the deportation of their Vice Chancellor Pal Ahluwalia.
The Australian citizen and his wife were forcibly deported to Australia on Wednesday, accused of being prohibited citizens .
The USP Student Association organised for students to wear blue and hang out at the campuses to show solidarity and resilience on Friday.
USP Student Association spokesperson Aneet Kumar told Pacific Beat that students are feeling anxious. The students fear for their safety on campus and they do live in a fear-mongering environment currently, he said. The trust and the confidence that the students have put in the Fijian authorities for their safety and well-being is currently under threat .
