The springer spaniel and owner Kerry Irving, of Helvellyn Street,Keswick has raised cash for MIND, Help For Heroes, and the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA). Max reached the Hero Pet selection stage out of 300 nominations overall chosen by the public.

A STATUE to honour a beloved dog is set to be unveiled almost one year after its announcement. Plans to create a bench and statue for Max the Miracle Dog were first shared back in August 2020, with a fundraiser launched to raise money for the bronze tribute to the world’s favourite Springer Spaniel. The page, set up by Max s owner, Kerry Irving, raised more than £26,000 in just one day, allowing the plans to get off the ground. And now, nine months on, a date has been set for the unveiling of the community-funded Max statue, with each and every fan of his being invited to the event on July 2.
GRITTER named after local super dog THE Council is to personalise its gritting lorries in the county, starting with one of Cumbria s most celebrated animals. Cumbria county council, made the announced yesterday, that a truck will be re-dedicated, with the name Maxi Moo’ver, after Max the miracle dog. The council said: “Please give a warm welcome to the first named gritter in our winter fleet – Maxi Moo’ver, named after the amazing Max the Miracle Dog.” Max if famous for being the most followed English Spaniel on social media and is the canine ambassador for Keswick and south lakes.

The PDSA, which nicknamed the honour the animal OBE , said the positive and life-altering impact Max has on the wellbeing of hundreds of thousands of people worldwide is unprecedented .
A spokesman said Max s popularity on social media provides a feel-good factor , and since 2017 the dog has also met more than 10,000 people and raised almost £300,000 for a number of charities.
