Person wanted in connection to Birmingham CVS robbery

BIRMINGHAM Birmingham Police are asking for help identifying a person of interest in a robbery investigation. Detectives obtained surveillance images from the CVS Pharmacy at 1675 Montclair Road. A man came into the pharmacy on Tuesday, May 18, around 7:30 p.m. and passed a note to an associate, demanding narcotics. “The male was described as a black male with a beard wearing a grey shirt, black pants, and a cap possibly with dreadlocks,” said Officer Truman Fitzgerald. “The male portrayed as though he was armed with a handgun.” The man fled the business with an unknown amount of narcotics. If anyone has information, they are asked to call BPD Robbery Detectives at 205-254-1753 or remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777. If the tip to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers will provide a cash reward.

Birmingham police responded shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday to the 800 block of 46th Street North on a report of a person shot, said police spokesman Officer Truman Fitzgerald. Mixon was found unresponsive in a parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Fitzgerald said. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced Mixon dead at 9:02 p.m. No arrests have been announced in the case.
