BIRMINGHAM Birmingham Police are asking for help identifying a person of interest in a robbery investigation.
Detectives obtained surveillance images from the CVS Pharmacy at 1675 Montclair Road. A man came into the pharmacy on Tuesday, May 18, around 7:30 p.m. and passed a note to an associate, demanding narcotics.
“The male was described as a black male with a beard wearing a grey shirt, black pants, and a cap possibly with dreadlocks,” said Officer Truman Fitzgerald. “The male portrayed as though he was armed with a handgun.”
The man fled the business with an unknown amount of narcotics.
If anyone has information, they are asked to call BPD Robbery Detectives at 205-254-1753 or remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777. If the tip to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest, Crime Stoppers will provide a cash reward.
19-year-old killed in east Birmingham shooting

A 19-year-old was shot to death Sunday night in eastern Birmingham.
Birmingham police Monday identified the victim Demonteco Usher. He was one of two people killed Sunday in Jefferson County homicides.
East Precinct officers were dispatched just before 11:30 p.m. to 6709 Interlaken Avenue on a report of a person shot, said Officer Truman Fitzgerald. The city’s gunfire detection system – Shot Spotter – also alerted to shots fired in the area.
Usher was found unresponsive and pronounced dead on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service. No additional details have been released.

Birmingham police are conducting a homicide investigation Wednesday night after a man was shot dead in the city’s Kingston community.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, South Precinct officers responded to the 800 block of 46th Street North on a report of a person shot, said police spokesman Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
Officers found the adult male victim lying unresponsive in a parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Fitzgerald said.
62-year-old man killed in shooting in Birmingham’s Kingston community

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Perry Lee Mixon. He was 62.
Birmingham police responded shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday to the 800 block of 46th Street North on a report of a person shot, said police spokesman Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
Mixon was found unresponsive in a parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Fitzgerald said. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced Mixon dead at 9:02 p.m.
