An Arizona State University police officer has died after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle collision Wednesday afternoon. (Shutterstock)
TEMPE, AZ An Arizona State University police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash near Mill and Southern Avenues Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The Tempe Police Department said in a news release that officers responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a car just before 4 p.m. Officials said the motorcycle was heading north on Mill when the car turned left in front of it. Speed is believed to be a factor in the collision.
The ASU Police Department confirmed Thursday morning that the motorcyclist was Officer Joseph Montgomery. Montgomery died from his injuries sustained in the crash.
