Based on updated data processed through Wednesday, Carroll saw a record 494 new cases of COVID-19 last week after 349 the previous week and 356 the week before that. The previous highest weekly total had been set the week of Dec. 13, when the health department reported 436 total cases.
Carroll County has seen 377 total cases this week through Friday afternoon. That’s already more than last week’s 338 or the prior week’s 355. Those two weeks were down from the 428 the week of Dec. 13 and 422 the week of Dec. 6.
Carroll County’s Board of Education is scheduled to make another decision on virtual and hybrid learning on Monday. And the county health officer is once again advising against it.
