Greater Sudbury Police made 163 use of force reports in 2020, an increase of 42 from the previous year, members of the police board were told this week.
The number of overall incidents where force was used was also up from 2019, from 85 to 112, according to a report submitted by Chief Paul Pedersen during the Greater Sudbury Police Services boardâs monthly meeting. Multiple reports may be submitted for a single incident, he said, depending on the number of officers involved.
