Medford golfers adapt to pandemic protocols to finish 2-2 Dom Nicastro Special to Wicked Local When the Medford High School golf team learned its season last fall would not happen, its golfers did not sit idle. The Greater Boston League decided not to play fall sports unlike many other high school leagues, ultimately postponing the golf season until this spring. But the Mustangs had a jump on this season, because they worked hard last fall. Ray Dyer, coach of the Medford High School golf team, said the team saw plenty of action on the links last fall, despite not being in a competitive league. The Mustang golfers got to see a lot of green at Unicorn Golf Course in Stoneham, as well as Sagamore golf course.

Medford girls win league meet title, while the boys finish second to Somerville

Medford harriers among the GBL’s best Wicked Local The Greater Boston League’s cross-country meet took place last Thursday, May 13, at MacDonald Park against the backdrop of a perfect spring day, which featured many excellent races. It was also Medford’s Senior Day, and the Mustangs’ six graduating harriers of Rayanne Forbes, Bella Grieco, Emily Stanley, Sam Cluggish, Andrew Olivieri and Stefan Langshur were so honored for their contributions to the program the last four years. The Medford girls sent their senior teammates off with a league championship to complete an undefeated 6-0 season rather appropriately.  “They have worked hard during this time of uncertainly, and were rewarded with this win, as well as an undefeated in dual meet season,” said coach Lou Ruggiero.
