A view of the Meetup Spot sign placed in the parking lot of the Orange Police Department . With the holiday season already upon us, many people will look to websites like OfferUp, Craigslist, LetGo, or Facebook to buy/sell things. This offers sellers and buyers a safe spot to meet and do their business without fear of being robbed or scammed.
Several police departments have designated safe meeting areas for those wary of meeting up with buyers and sellers of online items.
And they’re full of cops.

MILFORD A Town Fair Tire employee who police suspect fatally shot another man at the Orange store over the weekend appeared state Superior Court in Milford on Monday.
Terrance Allen, of New Haven, was arraigned for violation of probation and had bond set at $100,000 by Judge Maureen Dennis.
Allen will be assigned a public defender and his next hearing was set for June 15 in New Haven.
The 24-year-old was arrested Saturday night after police claim he shot and killed 27-year-old Joshua Figueroa.
While police claim Allen shot Figueroa “multiple times,” the New Haven man has not been charged in the shooting.
