A new documentary about the life of Amy Winehouse will be released to mark the ten-year anniversary of her untimely death. Legendary singer Amy tragically passed away on the 23rd of July 2011 in Camden, with the official cause of death recorded as alcohol poisoning.
Although there have been other films made about the musician in the past, most notably the 2015 offering
Amy, this new BBC documentary is spearheaded by Amy s mum Janis, who says she is keen for viewers to finally get to know the real Amy .
Amy Winehouse: 10 Years On promises to share more about the childhood and private life of Amy and will feature unseen archive footage, it will also be a part of a full season of special shows on BBC Two and radio, examining her influence on the music world.

Camden singer Amy Winehouse will be remembered in a BBC documentary to mark 10 years since her death.
Winehouse, known for songs including Back To Black and Rehab, died of alcohol poisoning, aged 27, at her home in Camden on July 23 2011.
The documentary will feature interviews with her mother, Janis Winehouse, as well as previously unseen footage from the Winehouse family collection, plus BBC archive content.
Janis lives with multiple sclerosis, a brain condition which can lead to memory loss, and she hopes that by taking part in the project she can make a permanent record showing a different side to her daughter.
