Fox61’s Lauren Zenzie visited the distribution site. Hunter Morton, Culinary Director at the Max Restaurant group said “They’ve been over the moon appreciative, so it’s great. Great for us too.” The organization opened their distribution of the 500 boxes at 10:00am, but they say people were waiting hours beforehand for the holiday meal box.

The holiday meal kit distribution was in the Hartford Municipal Parking Lot on Main Street across from Dunkin Donuts Park. City officials said the Max Cares Foundation distributed 500 free holiday meals in a no-contact, drive-thru pick-up. One meal kit was available per vehicle. The meals were available while supplies last. NBC Connecticut There were also two toy drive-thru events. The events were in two locations. In the north section of the city, it was at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School on Ridgefield Street and in the south section of the city, it was at the Learning Corridor on Vernon Street.
