CommUNITY Cleanup hailed as a success by organizers

GREAT FALLS â Last week, NeighborWorks Great Falls hosted its annual CommUNITY Cleanup, starting with a free community shred day sponsored by Montana Credit Union. More than 16,000 pounds of personal information was shredded and properly disposed.
NeighborWorks Great Falls said in a news release that 24 sites around Great Falls were cleaned up by 15 teams of volunteers, with the Malmstrom Air Force Base Dirt Boyz picking up rubbish along 56 miles of roads.
Vanessa Hayden of Vision Net said, âWe care about the communities we live and work in so weâre always looking for opportunities to make our community better.â Vision Netâs team of volunteers spent several hours on Friday picking up debris along the Riverâs Edge Trail.

GREAT FALLS â The annual CommUNITY Cleanup spearheaded by Neighborworks Great Falls got underway Friday morning, with volunteers spend time cleaning up different parts of the city.
Among the volunteers were Vision Net employees picking up garbage at Garden Home Park along the west bank of the Missouri River at 601 Bay Drive. We care about the communities that we live and work in, so we are always looking for opportunities to make our communities better,â explained group leader Vanessa Hayden.
NeighborWorks Great Falls director Sherrie Arey noted, Even on a rainy day, it s the best day to be in Great Falls, so we think there ll be plenty of people that are still willing to come out and work through some of the sprinkles we might have.â

GREAT FALLS â NeighborWorks Great Falls, closed to the public for more than a year because of the pandemic, re-opened several days ago. Following the state guidelines, following the county guidelines, it just seems (like) more and more people have gotten vaccinated. More people are understanding social distance and willing wear their mask when asked, so we think it s time to open back up,â explained Sherrie Arey, director of NeighborWorks Great Falls.

GREAT FALLS â On Monday morning, the Downtown Safety Alliance distributed the money raised from their seventh year of collections for the Coins For A Cause program.
The Downtown Safety Alliance is comprised of the Great Falls Business Improvement District, NeighborWorks Great Falls, the Great Falls Police Department, the Downtown Great Falls Association, Neighborhood Councils, and the Downtown Development Partnership.
Coins For A Cause was created by The Downtown Safety Alliance in December 2012. Donations collected from containers set up in various downtown businesses are collected annually and given to an organization that provides direct services and resources to people in need, with the goal of reducing pan-handling.
