Monte and Catral CF share spoils in 2-2 draw promotion plays-offs By Andrew Atkinson CD Montesinos and Atletico de Catral CF shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Municipal stadium Los Montesinos in the first game of the plays-offs for promotion in the Valencia 1st Regional Group 10. Following the coronavirus affected 2020-21 season that lead to the postponement of a plethora of fixtures the FFCV split the top and bottom seven clubs into play-off and relegation groups. CD Benijofar finished sixth in Valencia 1st Regional G10 to clinch a play-off spot. Spectators returned to the terraces, following the coronavirus lockdown easing, after fixtures being played behind closed doors.

By Andrew Atkinson Aspe UD ‘A’, Atletico de Catral CF, CF Rafal, Hondon Nieves C, CD Cox, CD Benijofar and CD Montesinos have finished in the top seven of the Valencia 1st Regional Group 10 to qualify for promotion play-off games in a COVID-19 affected 2020-21 season. Due to a plethora of fixtures postponed during the campaign following coronavirus lockdown the FFCV have split the league, with the top seven and bottom seven clubs vying for promotion and relegation, respectively. Fixtures on April 24-25 saw CD Cox defeat Racing San Miguel 3-0, with Racing slipping down to tenth, missing out on the promotion race cut-off.

By David Winder CD Montesinos new coach Purito read the riot act after the Valencia 1st Regional Group 10 side lost away at Atletico de Catral CF on March 28, that paid dividends in defeating local rivals CD Benijofar in a Derby fixture at the Municipal stadium on April 10. Purito, who replaces outgoing coach Jesus Santander, had run the rule over the squad in  training, in a bid to return to winning ways. Monte pressed the visitor’s goal from the kick-off, taking the lead after attacking football with a great goal from new striker, Toni, following a long pass from Damian to Manu Sanchez, who quickly passed to Toni, to slot home.
