Election Commission’s special observers Vivek Dubey and Ajay Nayak have concluded in a report that the injury to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram was “accidental”.
Sources said the observers had ruled out the possibility of an attack, claiming a heavy police force was deployed around the Chief Minister at the time of the incident.
Special police observer Dubey and special observer Nayak inspected the “accident” site before submitting the detailed report to the EC on Saturday evening, the sources said.

New Delhi: A day after poll observers said that the alleged attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram was an accident, MoS MHA G Kishan Reddy said that people from her own party TMC think that it was a drama. It s not only the observers but even common people who think the same. People from every party or region, people from her own party, West Bengal police, all of them think that it is a drama. With this, Mamata Banerjee has stooped even lower before people, Reddy said.
