The meeting of the Standing committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, scheduled to be held on April 19, has been postponed. Members are informed that the meeting of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice scheduled to be held at 3 pm on Monday, April 19 stands postponed due to prevailing Covid situation. The next date of the meeting of the Committee will be intimated in due course, a Rajya Sabha Secretariat letter read on Friday.

Such is the case with the 18,000 employees of the Airport Authority Employees Union (AAEU). AAEU General Secretary Balraj Singh Ahlawat has appealed to his employees several times to come forward and get vaccinated. Our union has around 18,000 employees strength across India and around 12,000 employees are aged above 45 years, but most of the employees are in fear and confusion, if they get the jab, they will have some side effects and many reports have suggested that after vaccines people get infected again, the AAEU General Secretary told ANI.

Dr Arora s remarks come against the backdrop of the ongoing West Bengal assembly elections, Kumbh Mela in Haridwar and farmers agitation at the borders of the national capital. Speaking to ANI, Dr Arora said, What we can see is that youngsters are more careless. They believe in small gathering and organising parties. Also, we have seen social and religious gatherings, Kisan Andolan and political rallies. These all are super-spreaders of COVID.

Our aim is to bring down the spread of virus. Contact between people has to be reduced. It needs be done at micro level. We ll have to impose restrictions or lockdown in small areas but no nationwide lockdown is needed, Arora told ANI.
