Assam Government on Sunday issued fresh COVID 19 guidelines slated to be imposed from May 16 until further orders. These directives were issued in light of the ongoing covid 19 surges in the state.
Government sources say that an odd-even formula will be instituted for vehicles other than government vehicles and those exempted. All other vehicles will have to operate in accordance with this formula to be decided by the jurisdictional District Disaster Management Authority between 5 AM to 12 Noon.Â
However, this restriction will not be mandated on personal vehicles used for medical emergencies.Â

The Assam government on Wednesday ordered shutting down of all offices, religious places and weekly markets for 15 days in urban and semi-urban areas of the state, besides banning movement of people from 2 pm to 5 am in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases.
Issuing a new set of guidelines for the urban and semi-urban places in the periphery of 5 km of municipal areas, Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua said all standalone shops and commercial establishments shall shut down at 1 pm on all days.

The Assam government on Wednesday announced its decision to close all religious places, weekly markets, and offices for 15 days in urban and semi-urban areas of the state. It also banned the movement of people from 2 pm to 5 am in view of the surging COVID-19 cases.
More than 8,000 new cases have been reported in Assam so far since beginning of the current month.
GUWAHATI: Amid the surging Covid-19 cases, Assam on Wednesday enforced a set of moderate restrictions at educational institutes, offices, functions, religious places, markets and public transport, in those districts where number of active cases are more than 100 and will be in force till April 30.
“Our situation is not so alarming at this moment, it is still under control. But we cannot say what will be the situation in the next seven to eight days,” chief secretary Jishnu Barua said.
He added, “We have imposed some moderate restrictions and we will review the situation after three days and if number of cases are still rising we will have to bring harsher restrictions.”
