ISLAMABAD: The technical committee of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has outrightly rejected any proposal for bringing changes in methodology for calculating inflation figures, arguing that any such change would distort the whole statistical series on prices.
The National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC), under Chairmanship of Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin, had directed the PBS to include prices of commodities from Saasta Bazars/Sahulat Bazaars and subsidy provided through Utility Stores Corporation (USC) of Pakistan. Through this exercise, the government wants to see reduced CPI inflation figures without focusing reduction in prices on the ground.

Shakespeare s The Winter’s Tale is sometimes categorised as a ‘problem’ play. The problem is that some scholars think it’s an unhappy mix of tragedy and comedy.
All’s not well that doesn’t end as they like it, in the story of jealous King Leontes, who turns on his innocent wife, puts her on trial for adultery and abandons their newborn babe on a mountain.
The real problem, though, is how to help an audience enjoy a story that’s a freewheeling yarn playing fast and loose with time, space and a prophetic Oracle to achieve its magical conclusion.
It has been a hard coming for this RSC
Winter’s Tale but, mirroring the action of the play itself, considerable travail has brought forth a happy ending. Erica Whyman’s production was cancelled by the virus days before its premiere last spring, with plans to stage it in the autumn frustrated by the second lockdown.

‘Time crunch’ to get Muslim community vaccinated before Ramadan begins
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minnesota (WCCO) The Muslim community is racing to vaccinate as many people as possible before Ramadan begins next week, which will draw people to worship in-person together.
On Thursday, 200 people received their shots at Masjid Al Tawba in Eden Prairie. Hundreds more got vaccinated at other mosques and will continue to do so through Monday. Ramadan begins early Tuesday.
“People tend to fill the masjid. The masjid tends to host a lot activities and a lot of things that are important for the community,” said Imam Ahmed Abou. “So there’s a little bit of a time crunch for us to get as many Muslims as possible vaccinated to contribute to beating the curve.”
