Wildey man on remand on theft charges

With charges against him already pending in the judicial system, a Wildey man lost his chance at bail when he appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee on Wednesday.
Henderson Levere Roberts, 30, from Factory Avenue is accused of trespassing on Addison Worrell’s shop on April 30 and stealing $220 cash, $21.25 worth of cigarettes, $20 worth of soft drinks and $52 worth of wrappers.
He is also accused of stealing a bicycle worth $1,400 belonging to Winston Thomas, trespassing on Rhonda Hollingsworth’s and stealing a garden hose worth $67 between May 2 and 3.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and Station Sergeant Cameron Gibbons objected to bail.

Renison Isaiah Prince admitted in court he was not himself that day on October 22, 2017, when he told police that God told him to “brek” 19 windows of the historic St Mary’s Anglican Church and a plant pot.
Appearing before a virtual sitting of the No. 2 Supreme Court, Prince, of Fairfield, Black Rock, told Justice Randall Worrell he was under the influence of drugs and confused.
He said: “Sir I was under the influence of drugs and other things. That wasn’t me that really did that damage to the church, I was confused. I was going through a lot. I would like to say I am very sorry for what I did.
Child rapist, pornographer to spend seven more years for 2008 crime

A 57-year-old Beckles Road man who 14 years ago raped a boy, filmed the act and collected pornographic images of the child among hundreds of explicit pictures of young males was Friday jailed for the next seven years and 141 days.
The sentence was handed down to Stephen Ian Rock by Justice Christopher Birch in the No. 5A Supreme Court.
Rock, of Pipers Avenue, had been found guilty of the July 18, 2008, offence of serious indecency against a minor and possession of indecent photographs of a child.
Rock’s lawyer Asante Brathwaite had previously asked the court to look at a starting point of five years for the indecent assault conviction and a fine or no more than six weeks in prison for possession of child pornography.
