TOI has learnt that the local administration will soon begin an exercise to evaluate the prevailing land rates in the three revenue sub-divisions of the district Dadri, Sadar and Jewar. Circle rates are updated every year, usually on August 1. From 2017, the circle rates in Noida, Greater Noida and other parts of the district have largely remained unchanged. But this time the need to revise them upwards is being felt as the three industrial development authorities of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway have jacked up the property rates over the past three years. In UP, the government charges 7% of the property value as stamp duty.

An Aqua Line Metro train NOIDA: Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has finally got the three bidders it needs to go through with the process to pick a company that will build the first phase of the Aqua Line extension from Noida to Greater Noida. This was the fourth time it floated bids since it was unable to find the minimum number of applicants needed to go through with the process. The 14.95km Aqua Line corridor from Noida Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida will have nine stations in total. And the estimated cost is Rs 2,294 crore. The first phase of the corridor is 9.6km-long and will have five stations at sectors 122, 123, Greater Noida Sector 4, Ecotech 12 and Greater Noida Sector 2. The first phase cost is Rs 563.04 crore, and its deadline is 24 months from the date of approval.

Noida Metro ridership increases to over 3,300

Noida: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Wednesday resumed its services after a gap of over one month and more than 2,300 people took the Aqua Line to commute. The NMRC officials informed that the trains will run till Friday and resume on Monday. There will be no metro services on Saturday and Sunday. “As many as 2,349 riders took the Aqua Line to commute till 8pm,” an NMRC official. Services on the corridor were stopped on May 1. The peak ridership registered by the Aqua Line before the pandemic was around 28,000. During office hours, metro trains will ply every 15 minutes and for the rest of the day, the interval will be 30 minutes, officials said. For NMRC, the rush hours are 8am to 11am and 5am to 8pm. According to NMRC during the peak hours, trains will not stop at sectors 50, 101, 81, 83, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147 and 148.
