“We shifted our focus to the league immediately after we advanced to the cup quarters,” Bbosa told the club’s official website.
“We respect Police because they are a decent side with a good coach but the target remains winning all our home games to keep in reach with the table leaders.”
On his part, forward Mustafa Kiragga maintained their focus is to win to make their home ground a fortress for teams and they have prepared well to beat Police.
“Advancing to the quarter-finals of the Uganda Cup was a major boost for the team and as we prepare to face Police tomorrow [Saturday], the focus is on getting maximum points,” Kiragga told the same portal.

“During my playing time, I was a striker and I have shared with Ssekamatte the secret of scoring goals,” Mbowa continued.

Mbowa was also elated by the kind of play his side – who are seventh and with just a loss in the last five games - has been showing.
“The character of the team was superb, we were determined to get a result and played for that,” Ssimbwa told the club’s official website after the game. “Mbarara City is a bogey side that always gives us a hard time so am glad the players followed the instructions to the letter.”
Ssimbwa along with his technical team required a win or any goalscoring draw to progress to the Round of 16 and he made four changes to the team that started the home game against the same opposition.
Katongole Faruku replaced Benjamin Nyakoojo, Ivan Sserubiri for Moses Sseruyidde, Ojera Joackiam for Galiwango Arafat while Ibrahim Dada came on for Cromwell Rwothomio.
