Agartala: Anindita Bhowmik, a physiotherapist at the Tripura Medical College and the Dr. BR Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, was reportedly suspended from service over a Facebook post she had written about an expensive machine that was allegedly purchased without a tendering process.
She feels that after the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Tripura in 2018, there is no freedom of expression. âDuring the Left Front government, FIRs were filed against me several times for criticising the government on social media. Agartala: A school teacher from Tripura allegedly consumed acid and fed the same to her 1-year-old son on Sunday. The woman was upset due to marital issues and she penned down a five-page suicide note before taking the drastic step. The cops also suspect that the woman ended her life due to poverty.
The deceased woman was identified as Rumi Debbarma. Debbarma left behind a suicide note written in Kokborok. Kokborok is the main native language of the Tripuri people. In the note, the woman suggested that she was unhappy in her marital life.

Agartala: In a tragic incident, the dead body of a ninth semester MBBS student in Agartala Government Medical College was recovered on Monday evening. The deceased student is identified as Adarsha De, who is of 23 years of age. The body of the deceased was found hanging at his hostel room. His father, however, has claimed that his son was murdered. He has demanded a proper investigation and immediate action against the one behind the killing of his son.
