The board approved the salaries at their meeting Monday, May 17. The salaries are: • Village administrator, Greg Thompson, $80,430 • Police chief, Mark Murray, $88,590 • Village clerk/treasurer, Lori Queor, $73,384 • Director of planning & development, Fred Hanss, $77,680 • Museum curator, Erin Cheney, $35,000 • Superintendent of DPW, J. Sen Griffo to visit Potsdam today to see Garner Park improvements, present award to Clarkson Inn

Thursday, May 6, 2021 - 10:46 am POTSDAM State Sen. Joseph A. Griffo, 47th District (which includes parts of St. Lawrence County), will be in Potsdam this afternoon to review work in Garner Park and to present an award to a local business. Griffo will be Potsdam Village Mayor Ron Tischler, village administrator Gregory Thompson and Fred Hanss, village planning and development director, along with other local officials at Garner Park off Raymond Street at about 1:15 p.m. The senator will be reviewing progress of improvements that are under way at Garner. Griffo secured funding for the work. Village officials and Griffo may be viewing improvements at other parks as well.

St Lawrence County nonprofit organizations awarded nearly $100,000 from Rock Charitable Fund

Friday, January 29, 2021 - 5:15 pm Marjorie RockWATERTOWN The Rock Charitable Fund of the Northern New York Community Foundation recently awarded nearly $100,000 to six nonprofit organizations in St. Lawrence County to preserve and maintain churches and cemeteries in the region. The Roman Catholic Church of Saint Mary, Canton, received a $35,000 grant to support the first phase in its campaign to restore and protect its historic structure and property. Funding will support repairs to the bell tower, statue, trim, and foundation. St. John’s Episcopal Church, Massena, received a $23,775 grant to restore exterior brickwork and repair windows and landscaping. Deteriorating brick in areas on the east side of the church will be replaced along with other repairs.
