I wrote and co-produced a feature film that’s been in post-production for so long that it has moved from “very cool” to “definitely embarrassing.” I no longer enjoy talking or being asked about it, and the friendships that were so strong at the beginning of the movie project seem to be unraveling under the pressure of collaborating in a broken world. The artistic hills I was dying on years ago have been replaced by, “Sure, put a fake fire-breathing dragon in it if you think it’ll be done and distributed faster.” It’s sad.
