After being spectators on the opening night of the NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks have now made their first selection of the even with Western Michigan wide receiver D Wayne Eskridge being selected by the team with the 56th overall pick on Friday night.
Eskridge is a 5-foot-8 3/4 and 190 pounds and has played both receiver and cornerback during his time at Western Michigan. He s also a capable kick return option as well. In just six games played last year for the Broncos, Eskridge had 34 receptions for 784 yards and eight touchdowns en route to earning first-team All-Mid-American Conference honors. He led the conference in both receiving yards and receiving touchdowns last year.

All along, Eskridge wanted to become a Seahawk, and the franchise made those dreams become reality when they selected him with the 56th overall pick. Now the former Bluffton star will have a chance to take Seattle s passing game to another level.

The first round of the NFL Draft begins tonight at 5:00 p.m. PDT. But the Seahawks will not be making a first-round selection for the first time since 2017 after dealing their pick, slotted at No. 23 overall, as part of a package to acquire All-Pro safety Jamal Adams from the Jets. Their first scheduled pick comes in much later at No. 56, deep in the second round. Some serious moves would have to be made, including perhaps trading a star player, for Seattle to move into the first round.
