If you couldn’t believe that former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett settled for the New York Giants offensive coordinator job last season you won’t believe this either.
Although Garrett will stay, there will be some changes to the Giants offensive staff, among them the possibility of internal alterations when it comes to the responsibilities of those currently on staff. Increased responsibility for quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski, wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert and tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens is possible.
This was the expected outcome with Garrett despite the Giants offensive struggles, especially after the coaching carousel had spun for weeks and there was no word on his future. The belief is that some stability for quarterback Daniel Jones and the offense could be valuable.

The NFL has failed Black coaches, and Eric Bieniemy is the face of the problem. But should he be?
Here is Bieniemy, coordinating the Chiefs’ explosive offense for Kansas City’s two Super Bowl runs, admired by players, objectively qualified to be a head coach. Nobody has hired him. He is Black. This is all true. But it is only part of the story.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Whatever team ends up with Deshaun Watson will have a terrific quarterback.
And yes, it’s not controversial to say Watson is a better quarterback right now than Baker Mayfield.
That’s not the question.
Assuming Houston complies with Watson’s demand to be traded, it wouldn’t be a straight QB-for-QB deal. Houston is desperate for draft picks and salary cap room.
For now, Houston says it’s keeping Watson.
Of course, you’d expect Caserio to say that. The GM added that the team has big plans to improve the situation for Watson.

When former New York Giants tight end Dan Campbell signed a six-year contract last week to join the Detroit Lions, he added a new branch to the already-impressive Bill Parcells coaching tree.
Parcells, who won two Super Bowls as Giants head coach, hasn’t been on the sideline since 2006 with the Dallas Cowboys. But his roots run deep in today’s NFL. Here is the list of Parcells assistants and players who have gone on to become head coaches in the NFL:

It s back to the drawing board for New York Giants head coach Joe Judge, who has a significant coaching vacancy on his staff to fill after the team reportedly was unable to reach a contract extension with Dave DeGuglielmo.
DeGuglielmo, initially hired by Judge to serve as a consultant because the full-time offensive line coach when Judge fired Marc Colombo following a reported flare-up of tempers when Colombo had learned of Judge s plan to have DeGuglielmo serve as a consultant.
The Giants offensive line is coming off its first year with three faces, including two rookies (Andrew Thomas and Shane Lemieux) at new spots, Judge has stressed from Day 1 the importance of finding assistant coaches who are good teachers.
