Indianapolis residents can now use free public Wi-Fi in three parks, the city s Parks and Recreation department announced Friday.
You can connect to Wi-Fi at Frederick Douglass Park, Municipal Gardens and Riverside Park, which together receive more than 300,000 visitors each year, according to Indy Parks and Rec.
Though Wi-Fi was previously available at some parks thanks to private partnerships, this is the first time the city s parks department has offered the service.
The free internet connections will increase social equity in communities where internet access may not be readily available, Indy Parks and Rec said in a statement. Allowing groups to conduct virtual meetings, children to complete virtual homework assignments, and residents to search for jobs or complete any other internet-based activity.
