Indianapolis residents can now use free public Wi-Fi in three parks, the city's Parks and Recreation department announced Friday.
You can connect to Wi-Fi at Frederick Douglass Park, Municipal Gardens and Riverside Park, which together receive more than 300,000 visitors each year, according to Indy Parks and Rec.
Though Wi-Fi was previously available at some parks thanks to private partnerships, this is the first time the city's parks department has offered the service.
The free internet connections "will increase social equity in communities where internet access may not be readily available," Indy Parks and Rec said in a statement. "Allowing groups to conduct virtual meetings, children to complete virtual homework assignments, and residents to search for jobs or complete any other internet-based activity.
