NEC To Move Over a thousand Employees to Tenjin Business Center
NEC Corporation announced the opening of a new large-scale office inside the soon-to-be-completed Tenjin Business Center. It will relocate all seven of its offices elsewhere in Fukuoka City to create a more flexible working environment for over 1,100 employees. The company will rent three floors of the business complex, of which the construction will complete at the end of September.

Fukuoka Prefecture to Host Next-generation Data Centers
A task force will be established to apply for a national government project to develop up to five such centers. Taking advantage of the area’s lower risk of earthquakes, the prefecture would collaborate with regional ordinance-designated cities and achieve the goal.

The atmospheric summer-night cruise welcomes guests onto lantern-lit gondolas that quietly glide through the city’s waterways. The 70-minute tour is even more enjoyable with some drinks and snacks – so bring whatever you want to eat or drink. This year, each gondola will carry only a maximum of ten persons (half their regular capacity) to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

Fukuoka-based Aeon Introduces Price Scanning Shopping
Aeon Kyushu announced the introduction of a cashier-less shopping system at one of its supermarkets in Fukuoka. On July 28, shoppers at Aeon Hara Shop in Sawara Ward can use an application to calculate their purchasing prices while selecting items. Customers scan barcodes as they put things in the trolley, and the data is forwarded to a checkout device for payment. The system, called ‘Dokodemo Reji Reji-Go,’ will be introduced at more shops in the future.
