While the training exercises are similar to those done in January, it is a different building, which presents its own challenges. (This) gives us an opportunity to train in a real-life environment. Something that is unique, Frazier said.
The department informs the public about training exercises through signage outside of a building and through public news releases. The police department and Boone County Joint Communications is notified in case they receive any calls. There is always that chance that someone is not going to know, Frazier said.
What were the training exercises?
The department was simulating a fire in the third floor of the fraternity building Wednesday. With that, they were running a water-charged hose line up to that floor. Firefighters also had to identify which room contained the simulated fire to put it out.

CLEAR LAKE-On May 24, 2021, William L. Bill Nicholas, of Clear Lake, finished an amazing journey and immediately embarked on an even greater one.
Bill loved life and lived it zealously for over 91 years. A farmer for over 80 years in North Iowa, and 40 years in southern Florida, he pursued many other interests including: sailing, flying, music, traveling, and reading. In his spare time he started a bank in Clear Lake and was a founding board member of Guardsman Life Insurance Company in Des Moines. By far the most important thing to Bill was his family starting with his wife, Mary Lou. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in Florida. He was instrumental in helping his three boys and five grandchildren get established, not only in life, but in their chosen professions. SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. University of San Diego is investigating its Phi Gamma Delta fraternity after a large, unmasked party at Sycuan Casino in March, according to a former employee who worked the event. Around 20 fake IDs were confiscated.
The former employee, Andrew Marosok, originally reported the event to UC San Diego the night of the party on Friday, March 19. News 8 later discovered the fraternity belongs to USD. He was fired the next Monday, according to documents obtained by News 8.
Sycuan Casino maintains that Marosok broke his confidentiality contract, stating he was required to report to his managers before informing the university.
May 12, 1996, was Graduation Day and Mothers Day at UNC-Chapel Hill. It was tragically disrupted by an early morning fire that killed five students at the Phi Gamma Delta house on Cameron Avenue.
