By Murtaza Ali Shah LONDON: One of the architects of the Assets Recovery Agreement (ARA) between the Broadsheet LLC and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said his role was only that of a “post office” between the two parties and nothing more. Tariq Fawad Malik, who currently lives in Dubai and runs businesses from there, is considered the main character of the Broadsheet deal among Gen Amjad, Farouk Adam Khan, Jerry James and Dr William Pepper. General Amjad told Sir Anthony Evans that it was Tariq Fawad Malik – known also as TFM – who came to him with Ghaznafar Ali Khan for the first time to pitch the idea of recovering the alleged stolen billion from abroad through the so-called assets recovery firm Trouvons LLC.

Failure to trace, repatriate Nawaz s assets: Gen Munir terminated contract with Broadsheet

National February 1, 2021 LONDON: The former National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman General Munir Hafiez told London High Court that Broadsheet was provided all help by Pakistani authorities and clearly told as late as November 2002 to find assets of Nawaz Sharif and continue investigating him but failed to make any recoveries or trace an assets outside Pakistan. Lieutenant General (retired) Munir Hafiez served as NAB’s powerful chairman between 1st November 2001 to 31st October 2005 and he authorised termination of the contract with Broadsheet LLC and International Assets Recovery (IAR) towards the end of 2003 after realising that Broadsheet was providing no “tangible” help.

Ex-NAB officer s son says interned for Broadsheet-linked law firm

National January 28, 2021 LONDON: The son of former Prosecutor General of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Farouk Adam Khan has said that he worked with Broadsheet-linked Orchard Solicitors in London for work experience in 2000 but it was under a work internship scheme and didn’t receive monetary benefits from the law firm. Omer Farouk Adam, a retired Pakistan Navy officer, told The News and Geo that he did an internship with Orchard Solicitors “but there was nothing secret about it and the internship was without monetary benefits”. He said: “It was a regular limited period internship undertaken with many other law students.”
