Water monitoring has confirmed that the level of cyanotoxins are at safe recreational values. But, officials advise visitors to be alert to signs of algae blooms, which can develop and disappear on any water body at any time under favorable conditions.
People, especially small children and pets, should avoid recreating in areas where water is foamy, scummy, thick like paint, pea-green or blue-green, or if thick brownish-red mats are visible or bright green cells are suspended in the water.

EUGENE, Ore. UPDATE 10:30 p.m.- After a windy day, search and rescue crews were finally able to get onto the water to search for a missing boater at Fern Ridge Reservoir on Monday.
It all started just before 1 p.m. when witnesses reported a missing man last seen about 150 yards offshore, near the dam on the north side of the lake.
The Eugene-Springfield Fire Department and Lane Rural Fire Authority are taking part in the search. Right now, boats and drones are being used.
