In David Mitchell s new TV series Outsiders
Comedians’ survival skills are to be put to the test in a new series fronted by David Mitchell.
Five of the six have already demonstrated their ingenuity – or otherwise – on Taskmaster, and like that show, the same comics will return each week.
Mitchell developed the format and will present the six hour-long epsiodes for Dave.
He said: ‘Civilisation is clearly crumbling so it’s high time we worked out whether we can cope without it. And if you can think of a better way of doing that than making six comedians learn survival skills, then you weren’t involved in the development process of this programme.’

Meet The Richardsons is to return for a third series, the Dave TV channel has announced today.
The show, offering a fictionalised look at the married life of comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont, will be back for ten new 40-minute episodes.
That’s two more than in the second series, currently airing on Thursday nights, and four more than the first, which ran in 2020.
Beaumont writes the show with Tim Reid, who previously worked on Car Share.
She said: ‘Oh god; I’ve got to stay married to him another year.’
Comedian contestants will write each show s questions
TV channel Dave has ordered a full series of a new quiz show fronted by Richard Ayoade.
Chortle reported back in September that the Crystal Maze host was piloting the format in which the comedian contestants also write the questions for their opponents.
Now broadcaster UKTV has confirmed eight hour-long episodes of Question Team are due to air this year.
Ayoade said in typically understated manner: ‘I have agreed to be in this show and, for now at least, it looks like it’s going ahead.’
The premise is that contestants each bring in a round, inspired by their own interests, for Ayoade and the others to play. The sole stipulation is that their questions have proper answers, otherwise what goes down during their game is entirely up to them.
Celebs design their ideal tropical getaway
Tom Allen is to front a new Dave panel show in which comedians will devise their dream desert island.
In The Island, Allen will be joined by fellow comedians Kemah Bob and Jason Forbes to bring reports from the islands the guests are describing to ensure there are no unforeseen circumstances.
For example, say producers Super Best Quality Video Productions, ‘You may think you want your island’s only drink to be Fanta Limon, but what happens when it attracts that swarm of angry bees?’
The format for the shows, which will run for eight hour-long episodes later this year, was devised by comics James Acaster, Ed Gamble, Lloyd Langford and John Robins.
