Ondo communities kick against alleged marginalisation in composition of NDDC boards, appointments

The coastal communities in Ondo state under the aegis, Ondo State Coastal Frontiers have kicked against the continue manipulation in the composition of the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and some appointments made into the board.
A statement made available to newsmen in Akure by the group’s coordinator, Nelson Mafo expressed the displeasure of the people of the coastal community over the composition of the board members of NDDC.
Mafo who described the development as an act of injustice, marginalization and oppression, noted that the appointment of the commission’s Managing Director and the two Executive Directors had never followed the Act that established NDDC.
OGUN: One dead, five injured as Customs, smugglers clash again

At least, one person has been confirmed dead following a clash between officers of Nigeria Customs Services and some rice smugglers in Oke Ola area of Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government area of Ogun State on Saturday.
Vanguard learnt that trouble started when Customs officers stormed a hideout where the imported rice were stored, shooting into the air to scare the smugglers.
Armed too, the smugglers were said to have engaged the officers in a gun battle that led to the killing of an innocent boy who was playing football with his colleagues at the Local Government Primary School, Oke-Ola, Ilaro.
