Lompoc police investigating homicide in riverbed

Lompoc police are investigating a homicide that occurred in the Santa Ynez Riverbed.
Police say a man was found dead on Wednesday in the riverbed near the old Mervyn s building off of H Street.
Officers are still looking for the suspect. As of 2:30 p.m., they were awaiting a search warrant so they could enter a tent in the riverbed.
Both the Lompoc Police Department and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff s Office are investigating the case.
