“Black History Month is a time to reflect on the legacy of our fellow Albertans of African, African American and Caribbean heritage.
“Alberta’s Black history is a history of familiar stories, stories of fur traders, cowboys and homesteaders, of farmers, miners and labourers, of craftspeople, artists, athletes and performers, of authors, teachers and doctors, of religious leaders, community advocates and public servants. It is a story of courageous men and women from all walks of life cherishing every kind of hope.
