SOUNDS of Australia is back at the NFSA. Each year, the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia recognises 10 sound recordings for their defining impact on Australian culture and history by including them in the Sounds of Australia registry. The full list is here and it’s now time to nominate songs across all genres going back to the 19th century, as well as famous speeches, unforgettable jingles, and radio broadcasts. Nominations for 2021 close here at midnight on Friday, July 23.

Alfred Vargas under his six-page House Resolution No. 1431, urging the 307-man House of Representatives to recommend to the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA) the conferment of the National Artist Award to Lee.
“Mr. Ricky Lee has proven, beyond accolades and awards, his worthiness to be called a National Artist because of his body of works, his ethics, and his virtues,” the House leader said.
“He has remained humble amidst the many recognitions that he has received. Mr. Ricky Lee has become a timeless role model for many artists in different fields for his craft, and has served as an inspiration to many Filipinos for his nationalism and contributions to nation-building,” he added.
