StayMyWay, a maker of contactless technology for hotels, has raised more than $3.7 million (€3 million) and is now launching a new investment round.
The Spanish company had a major win this month when Accor hired it be the exclusive provider of mobile key technology for 700,000 guest rooms at 5,000 of its properties.
StayMyWay’s technology lets hotel guests gain access to their rooms without stopping at the front desk. Guests take a picture of themselves and their passport or another identification document using their smartphone. The company uses technology to verify the guest’s identity and issue a key to a room.

Accor Launches âAccor Key
Accor announced the global roll-out of its digital key solution, âAccor Key, in line with the Groupâs strategy to provide a contactless guest journey in its facilities. This exciting new step for Accor confirms its ambition to innovate and invest in high-quality technological solutions to deliver the very best and most convenient experience for its guests.Â
The focus of the rollout will be to provide customers with a keyless door entry solution, while ensuring that hotels do not lose the human touch that guests require. On arrival at their destination, customers will receive their room key virtually upon downloading Accorâs digital key app. Customers will then be given access to rooms, entry to meeting rooms and floor access via lifts using their smartphone. Once departing the hotel, the mobile key will automatically be deactivated.Â

Hotel group Accor has announced the start of a global roll-out of digital room keys as guests increasingly seek a contactless stay in light of the Covid pandemic.
The roll-out of Accor Key will start in all new hotels opening in 2021 and extend to existing properties with an objective to equip 500 hotels this year, and at least 50 per cent of all rooms across the network within the next five years.
On arrival at their hotel, guests will receive their room key virtually through Accor’s digital key app which will give access to rooms, meeting rooms and lifts. On departure, the mobile key will be automatically deactivated.
