A new environmental group which has been set up in Penzance will be hoping to promote greener environmental policies as well as direct action alongside various other groups in the region. Greenpeace: Penzance-Penwith, which aims to raise awareness about global environmental issues on a local level, is looking to eventually hold in-person meetings in the near future, once Covid-19 restrictions allow. The new collective hopes to engage the local community and share its values of non-violence and environmentally-positive mentalities in order to build a green and peaceful future. The group is one of many environmental groups located around Cornwall which also include Greenpeace: Falmouth & Penryn, Extinction Rebellion, Helston Climate Action Group, Cornwall environmental consultants, West Cornwall friends of the Earth and The Great Wheal Vor Community and Environment Group, the latter of which was recently set up after plans were announced to investigate further tin-mining
