The rocket can carry about 17 lbs. (8 kilograms) on this launch, and is carrying three primary payloads on this flight.

An update on the test flight is expected soon.  10:45 a.m. EDT (1545 GMT).   The Brunswick, Maine-based bluShift will attempt to launch its Stardust 1.0 suborbital rocket up to a 1 mile high from a runway on the decommissioned Loring Air Force Base (now the Loring Commerce Centre) in Limestone, Maine. First Rocket Powered By Biofuel To Launch From Maine This Weekend After a weather delay, a first in rocketry will take off from northern Maine this weekend. A rocket powered by biofuel will launch from Loring Commerce Centre, in Limestone. It will be the first rocket in the world to be launched using bio-derived fuel, and Maine s first commercial rocket launch. The take-off was set for Jan. 15, but was delayed and eventually scrubbed due to weather. Now it looks like Sunday, Jan. 31 is marked for a new attempt at liftoff. The launch is scheduled for 10 a.m., with the livestream beginning at 9 a.m.

Falmouth Town Meeting OKs Fire Truck Purchases, Rejects Land Transfer

Falmouth s first-ever virtual Town Meeting authorized the purchase of two fire trucks on Monday, January 25.  While approving $5,802,500 in capital projects, Town Meeting members appropriated $870,000 for a new fire engine and $100,000 for a reserve fire/rescue vehicle suitable for service at the West Falmouth fire station. Select board member Douglas C. Brown moved the amendment requesting $100,000 for the reserve vehicle, noting the town does not currently have a backup fire engine.  We feel, here in West Falmouth, it is definitely a necessary element in keeping the station open, said Paul Sellers, Precinct Six. Not having a backup vehicle and using the West Falmouth truck to supplement the other areas of town certainly leaves a void for many of us that we feel, safety-wise, in West Falmouth. The purchase of another vehicle is paramount in trying to keep that station open until we finally have a combination West and North Falmouth station built, and we all know that is
