Falmouth s first-ever virtual Town Meeting authorized the purchase of two fire trucks on Monday, January 25.Â
While approving $5,802,500 in capital projects, Town Meeting members appropriated $870,000 for a new fire engine and $100,000 for a reserve fire/rescue vehicle suitable for service at the West Falmouth fire station.
Select board member Douglas C. Brown moved the amendment requesting $100,000 for the reserve vehicle, noting the town does not currently have a backup fire engine. We feel, here in West Falmouth, it is definitely a necessary element in keeping the station open, said Paul Sellers, Precinct Six.
