Woman threatened; sexually assaulted after break-in at Newcastle
An investigation is underway after an aggravated break and enter and sexual assault in Newcastle yesterday.
About 3.20pm (Thursday 29 July 2021), a 20-year-old woman was inside her bedroom at a home on Turana Parade, North Lambton, when a man entered the room armed with a knife and threatened her.
She attempted to alert neighbours before the man grabbed her and sexually assaulted her.
A short time later, the man fled on foot and the woman sought assistance from other residents, who contacted police.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District attended and established a crime scene.

A woman has been threatened and assaulted in a home at Newcastle.
Police say at about 3:20pm yesterday, 29 July, a 20-year-old woman was inside her bedroom on Turana Parade at North Lambton when a man entered the room armed with a knife and threatened her.
She attempted to alert neighbours before the man grabbed her and sexually assaulted her.
A short time later, the man fled on foot.
The woman was then able to get assistance from other residents, who contacted police.
Newcastle City Police District officers attended and established a crime scene.

Power outage leaves 1,412 Prince George homes in the dark

Over 1,400 Prince George homes are without power following a motor vehicle incident on the West side of town.
BC Hydro crews are currently on the scene, which occurred on Ospika Boulevard.
The homes have been without electricity since 1:52 pm.
Buildings located east of Faulkner Crescent, south of Hatherly Road, north of Dufferin Ave, and West of Laurier Crescent could be without power until the work is complete.
