At The Tavern in Buellton, Cullen hopes to showcase both his old-world French and Italian influences, and focus on signature dishes such as crispy duck with crêpes, date duck sauce and pickled mustard seeds; or beef heart tartare with shallot vinaigrette, golden raisins and celery salad. He looks forward to inspiration by wines sourced from the vineyards that surround the restaurant in the greater Santa Ynez Valley.

Firestone Walker Releases Parabola 2021 Alongside Two Variants
One of the beers that is the most difficult to brew and age returns from
Parabola makes its return in 12oz bottles in nationwide distribution alongside two very limited variants released only in California.
Parabola dates back to 2005 when Firestone Walker Brewmaster Matt Brynildson began aging its bold Imperial Stout in former bourbon barrels. It has now become one of the brewery’s most popular barrel aged offerings and only gets better as the brew team hones its aging process while exploring new avenues to go down.
As with previous vintages of
Parabola, expect dense flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate and roast coffee, with bourbon notes of tobacco, vanilla, caramel and plum to shine through. This year’s release of

Beer Week looks different this year – but still brings new releases of special local brews.
With the pandemic disrupting San Francisco Beer Week this year, the Bay Area Brewers Guild teamed up with six other regional guilds throughout the state to organize California Craft Beer Week from February 12-21. While large gatherings and festivals won’t be happening this year, breweries are still hosting plentiful virtual tastings and other events over the next two weekends.
Friday night’s free online kickoff event will feature talks by luminaries from throughout California like Vinny and Natalie Cilurzo of Russian River, Greg Koch of Stone, and David Walker of Firestone Walker, as well as Bay Area brewers Tim Sciascia of Cellarmaker, Kim Sturdivant of Pacifica Brewery, Shaun O’Sullivan of 21 st Amendment, and many others.
