Columbiana fireworks display shifts to Shaker Woods | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff Writer COLUMBIANA There will be fireworks in the city on July 4, but not at Firestone Park. Heidi Dattilio, president of the Columbiana Chamber of Commerce, and Lana Wilt, chairwoman of the Fourth of July Committee, came before city council this week to announce plans to relocate the fireworks. Fireworks will be displayed on July 4, which is a Sunday, at Shaker Woods Village. “We just wanted to give the plants some time before ten thousand people trampled through the park,” said Dattilio; referring to the construction throughout Firestone Park. Plans to relocate fireworks only include this year. Dattilio mentioned that moving the fireworks will also help if people are still required to social distance. People can stay by or inside their vehicles and enjoy July 4 festivities.

The signs are crafted after the originals hung when Firestone Park first opened. Miller has a passion for colonial architecture so when he was approached by Pat Tingle, a Trustee on the Restoration and Beautification Committee of Columbiana, to work on the new signs adorning Firestone Park, he took the opportunity.
