Hanoi, (VNA) – The northern region enjoyed record
2020-2021 Winter-Spring crop, it was reported at an online review
conference on May 28.
According to the Department of Crop Production under the Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development, the region harvested an average 6.36 tonnes
of paddy rice per hectare during the crop, with total output reaching an
estimated 6.9 million tonnes, an increase of 34,000 tonnes from the same period
last year.

The Vietnam Food Association (VFA) said on Sunday that the export price of Vietnamese rice reached US$513-517 per tonne for 5 per cent broken rice and $488-492 per tonne for 25 per cent broken rice. Other rice such as jasmine hit $563-567 per tonne and 100 per cent broken rice costs $438-442 per tonne.

VOV.VN - The prices of Vietnamese rice has reached a new record of US$567 per tonne, whilst continuing to exceed regional peers such as Thailand, India, and Pakistan, according to figures released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
This comes following the Vietnam Food Association (VFA) unveiling on March 7 that local rice export prices reached between US$513 and US$517 per tonne for 5% broken rice and between US$488 and US$492 per tonne for 25% broken rice.
Other types of rice such as Jasmine fluctuated from US$ 563 to US$567 per tonne, whilst 100% broken rice is being sold at between US$438 and US$442 per tonne.

Ten localities suggest allocating 10,000 tonnes of rice for Lunar New Year
Ten localities suggested allocating nearly 10,000 tonnes of rice for residents during the upcoming Lunar New Year festival, heard a press conference hosted by the General Department of State Reserves in Hanoi on January 8.
In 2020, the general department provided 132,100 tonnes of rice worth over 1.4 trillion VND.
Deputy head of the State Reserves Goods Management Department Pham Viet Ha said when the central region was hit by floods last year, over 19,000 tonnes of rice worth 213 billion VND (9.26 million USD) along with search and rescue equipment valued at around 202.9 billion VND were earmarked for them.
