A Ho Chi Minh City architecture student has turned his love for a traditional village of silk in southern Vietnam into a graduation project that was recently honored with a Loa Thanh Award. Lanh My A Museum by Pham Duy Tan, a student from the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, and The Corner of the Backyard Silent Spaces along the Huong Vinh Canal by Le Quoc from the University of Sciences - Hue University were given the Loa Thanh Award on December 27 in Hanoi.

A woman in Dong Thap Province, who illegally entered Vietnam in a car along with COVID-19 patient 1,440 last week, tested positive for the novel coronavirus and came into close contact with at least six more people, including a shipper and a sugarcane juice vendor.
Doan Tan Buu, vice-chairman of the Dong Thap People s Committee, held an urgent meeting on Tuesday upon the discovery of a coronavirus-positive case.

Driven by its rising power demand, Vietnam has become one of the largest and fastest-growing renewable energy markets in Southeast Asia, and Thai companies are acting swiftly to take advantage of the vast opportunities in the country.
Thai energy firm Gunkul Engineering, for example, has acquired the 50-megawatt Phong Dien II solar power plant in the central Vietnamese province of Thua Thien-Hue for US$39.9 million.
The facility started commercial operation on December 15 with a feed-in tariff (FIT) of 7.09 US cents per kilowatt-hour for 20 years.

projected to grow by about 6.8 percent in 2021 and, thereafter, stabilise at
around 6.5 percent, according to the latest
World Bank’s economic update for
Vietnam “Taking Stock”.
This
projection assumes that the COVID-19 crisis will be brought gradually under
control, notably through the introduction of an effective vaccine.
The report
emphasises that Vietnam might be exposed to fiscal, financial, and social risks
