The fuming family of slain OR Tambo District Municipality employee Namhla Mtwa has slated police minister Bheki Cele, saying his latest promise to solve her murder is “a nonsensical political statement to garner votes”.
The Eastern Cape business sector suffered a further blow after another young businessman in the King Sabata Dalindyebo municipal area was gunned down in cold blood.
National police have taken over investigations into the murder of OR Tambo district employee Namhla Mtwa, whose killing outside her Mthatha home made headlines across SA earlier this year.
The distraught family of slain entrepreneur Zwelinzima “PK” Dweba wants Mthatha to be declared a crime disaster area. They have also called on the government to develop a crime-prevention strategy tailor-made to put a stop to the spate of violent crimes in the town. “It is high time that Mthatha is declared a disaster area when it comes to crime,” family spokesperson advocate Sonwabile Mangcotywa said on Wednesday.
In March, popular Mthatha businessman Zwelinzima “PK” Dweba posted a photo of himself and fellow young businessman Lwazi Ntanta, who had just been gunned down in the town, grieving Ntanta’s death.
