South Africa's Zulu king, head of the country's most influential traditional monarchy, has undergone "thorough" medical examinations following the sudden death of a close adviser, a spokesman said Sunday, amid suspicions he was poisoned.
This follows a statement from Mangosuthu Buthelezi, in his capacity as amaZulu Prime Minister, who said the king was being treated in a hospital in Eswatini.

KWANONGOMA - AmaZulu Prime Minister, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, addressed the media on Saturday.
This after Prince Misuzulu was named the preferred King in his mother s will.
Queen Regent, Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu s will was read Friday night, prompting a flurry of activity at the KwaKhangelamankengane Royal Palace.
The prince was driven away by armed guards. He is now in meetings with Buthelezi at the palace in KwaNongoma.
